General Information

Enrollment Procedure

Oliver Elementary School welcomes you to our community. We hope to make the enrollment process as easy as possible for both students and parents, and are available to answer all of your questions. To find out more about our school enrollment deadlines, please contact us. Parents & guardians may pick up enrollment packets at the school or click the registration packet link below. For more information, please call or visit our front office during school hours. Please take the time to review your completed registration packet with our office staff and bring original documents for photocopying. Parents will need to bring the following items when registering their children:

  1. Completed registration packet 16-17
  2. Proof of Age such as a birth certificate
  3. Alabama Immunization Record (can be obtained from the RC Health Department)
  4. Social Security Card
  5. Two Proofs of Residence
  6. Picture ID of parents/guardians
  7. Withdrawal paperwork (from former school)


Parents who do not know their school attendance zone should visit the Russell County School District website at http://www.russellcountyschools.org/. Keep in mind that school offices will be open on a limited basis for summer. Parents are encouraged to submit their registration as soon as possible to avoid delays.



Arrival & Departure

Students may enter campus at 8:00 AM EST. All students should be in the classroom by 8:40. Breakfast is served in the morning from 8:00-8:30, so students wishing to eat should arrive before 8:30. 


Departure begins at 3:00 PM EST. Car riders are dismissed first and should be picked up in the car line in front of the school. Please remain in your vehicle and a staff member will walk your child to the car. All car riders should be picked up by 3:15. Bus riders will be escorted to the buses by faculty or staff.


Policies & Procedures

Our policies and procedures play a critical role in helping every student achieve the highest level of academic success and providing a safe, respectful environment for all members of the Oliver Elementary School Community. It’s important for every member of the school community to read and understand current policies and procedures. Therefore, each family received student handbooks containing school policy and procedure information when they registered. Please make sure you and your child(ren) carefully review the handbooks.
